On top of a glacier
imagine a river
fall quiet
quiet
A ravenous river into the wild
You are the embryo evolving from this
moment in rainbow space
A glass edge
crisscrosscut
splits
water-covered rock from sky
both fall
into
silence
transforming roaring matter
into oblivion.

I use Beam Paints from Manitoulin Island, Ontario, an indigenous, female buisness: "Made with Manitoulin honey, wildcrafted tree sap, hand-gathered, washed, and sifted stone, and the finest lightfast pigments, the paints themselves are smooth, luscious, easy to work with, beautiful in their pure, steadfastly non-toxic simplicity."

Since we visited Beam Paints on the Broken Forest Tour (see postings and "kalender") in August, I have used these water colours, first for travel drawings on paper and on birch bark. Now I am more and more fascinated by the metalic glow as well as the modest, soft appearance of the colours. They became my favourites, preferably for watercolour images of my poems.
